When I was making this project, I learnt a lot about the Sikh religion and its people. I found that there are Sikhs all around us, in all walks of life, and that the religion has spread far beyond its native Punjab.

I learnt about the history of the religion, from when it was founded by an Indian philosopher to when its generals dominated the Punjab, to its participation in the Great War. I learnt how the Sikhs suffered merciless persecution at the hands of the Mughal emperors, but unlike the Roman Christians, responded by turning their religion into a fighting force of incredible belief and power.

I also learnt about the religion itself, with its peaceful, non-aggressive attitude. I learnt how a village boy living in the Punjab's ideas grew and evolved, from looking at Hinduism and Islam, and listening to wandering mystics, and meditating, to become a new religion. I learnt how the profound simplicity and wisdom of the religion turned many from their beliefs to the new order. I learnt about how the religion never had an enemy, whether it be the rich or the poor, the Hindus or the Muslims, the Mughals or everyone else, and how they only defended against something, never campaigned to destroy it.

Overall, I learnt a lot. I hope you did too.
